Diros Caves
Vlychada Cave in Diros is one of the most beautiful and unique caves in the world, and is located on the west coast of the Laconian Peninsula, in Diros Bay. Under the sparse Mani landscape, for hundreds of thousands of years nature has artistically sculpted a miracle beyond imagination.
White stalactites and stalagmites, impressive waterfalls and glittering crystals adorn every corner, creating an incomparable spectacle that is simply breathtaking!
The exploration of the cave is done by boat, crossing through some narrow passages. (not recommended for people with claustrophobia)
Vatsanidi Cave
The Vatsanidi cave is connected to the sea, and this resulted in the creation of a saltwater lake, where you can swim into! There is also a natural-made hatch where light enters and illuminates the cave. The main chamber is massive, calculated at a whopping 36×55 meters!
Voidokilia Beach
Voidokilia beach is not only one of the most beautiful beaches of Messinia, but of the whole Mediterranean Sea, and it is arguably one of the most recognizable beaches in Greece. It’s an omega (Ω) shaped cove with white sand, turquoise waters, lush vegetation, and a peaceful lagoon. Voidokilia is hidden behind sand dunes, which seem to protect its secret, magical beauty. Some believe that the name represents the curved shape of the shore which resembles the belly of an ox! The beach has been described as “A Place of Particular Natural Beauty”, and it is one of Natura’s 2000 protected areas.
Polylimnio Waterfalls
The gorge of Polylimnio waterfalls is an earthly paradise and one of the hidden gems of the Peloponnese. The word Polylimnio in Greek means a multitude of lakes and this is exactly what you will find. There are numerous freshwater lakes in different vertical levels with crystal blue waters created by spectacular waterfalls. Water flows from one lake to another and hikers can cross the gorge through a clear path, with small bridges, as well as metal aiding handles.
Delfinia beach
Delfinia beach is located between Kardamyli and Stoupa. It is a beautiful cove sheltered by steep cliffs covered in olive trees, pine trees, and cypresses, and fronted by crystal clear waters. Delfinia means ‘dolphins’ in Greek, and refers to occasional ‘visits’ of dolphins in that part of the area.
Foneas beach
Foneas Beach is known for having a unique rock formation in the middle of its cove. It is located near Kardamyli village, and it is a pristine beach with turquoise waters, white pebbles, and a rocky backdrop which offers its natural shade to the bathers. There is also a canteen with food and beverages near the beach.
